About This Location
Arthur Scott's pharmacy and the family's elegant townhouse. Inspired by real Black elite figures like pharmacist Philip Augustus White. Marian's visit — expecting poverty, finding affluence — is a key scene.
The Weeksville Heritage Center at 1698 Bergen Street preserves the history of this community, including the surviving Hunterfly Road Houses — four of the oldest Black-owned homes in the US.
No specific address given in-show. Fort Greene is a better estimate than Weeksville: it was a prosperous Black neighbourhood in the 1880s and a short walk from the Fulton Ferry landing Peggy used to reach Manhattan. Filmed at Queens County Farm Museum.
