About This Location

The Statue of Liberty's torch arm was displayed here 1876–1882 to raise pedestal funds — depicted in the show. The scene was filmed at Washington Park in Troy, NY. The park is flanked by the Brunswick Hotel and Mrs. Astor's mansion.

Madison Square Park still exists and is beautifully maintained. The Shake Shack flagship (est. 2004) stands in its southeast corner — a different kind of Gilded Age institution.

Still exists today. Statue of Liberty torch display here is historically documented 1876–1882.
